Overview and Background
Public Sector Experience
Catherine has extensive experience in facilitating change and developing and coaching leaders in the public, corporate and voluntary sectors. In the public sector, Catherine has worked with a number of City and County Councils and wider public sector organizations including Cambridge City, Cambridge County, Northampton County and NCH, over an eight year period delivering executive coaching to senior managers (in HR, Planning & Environment, Communications); designing and delivering eight different bespoke leadership and management development training programmes and working with teams to increase their effectiveness and cross-team working (e.g. Housing/Temp Housing; HR, Planning; Finance).
Background
Catherine is a highly experienced, qualified executive coach and has been working as a consultant, facilitator and coach since 1992. She has significant coaching & facilitation skills and a strong business minded approach.
With over ten years’ experience in line management in the corporate and voluntary sectors, including managing through a recession, Catherine appreciates the pressures and challenges that managers face in organisations today. This perspective enables her to relate to, challenge and support, people who face the prospect of initiating, managing and/or responding and managing the consequences of change.
Her focus in the past five years has been working with senior executives on leadership development, change and management development and mentoring, where she combines a pragmatic approach with an ability to develop valuable insights for organisations and people. Catherine’s experience ranges from designing, developing and delivering bespoke interventions, one-to-one, leadership and senior management development, team and group coaching, mentoring groups and facilitating large group interventions to facilitate organisational and cultural change.
As well as working with the public sector, Catherine has worked with directors and senior managers as an executive coach and consultant in the field of management development for more than 18 years with organisations across a range of industries, including Toyota GB, Diageo, Npower, BAM Nuttall, Lexus, Oracle, Fujitsu, National Grid, The UN, Shell UK, and T-Mobile. She also founded a number of companies including BlueQuay in 2005 and The Changing Space for women in business in 2009.
Coaching Approach
Her warm, encouraging and challenging approach helps people face change and uncertainty with confidence; to build their skill;, perform more effectively to deliver objectives; and to contribute fully to the situations they face. Clients who have worked with Catherine say they get both support and challenge and a focus on results and relationships that really enable them to deliver their goals.
She is a certified Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic programming, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (FCIPD) she is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI). Catherine is a qualified coach and has a Diploma in Corporate Coaching and is a Member of the Association for Coaching. She also has some experience in 360 degree evaluation and psychometric questionnaires.
